St. George Greek Festival – August 20 and 21

Great Food, singing, dancing & fun

LOCATION – The Festival is held on the St. George church grounds at - 1111 Summit Avenue in St. Paul - the corner of Summit Avenue and Lexington Parkway.

If you love GREAT FOOD and DRINK, and like to sample FABULOUS ethnic pastries, then don’t miss the 2011 St. George Greek Festival in St. Paul.

WHEN - The St. George Greek Orthodox Church 2011 Greek Festival will be
Saturday August 20th, from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and
Sunday August 21st, from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Admission to the St. George Greek Festival is always FREE.

WHAT - “The World’s Finest Greek Festival!” TM menu will feature St. George’s world famous Gyros sandwiches, delicious Greek Salad, and our fabulous Dinner Plates including Roast Lamb, Greek Style Chicken, or Souvlakia (“Shish Kebab”) served with rice, salad and bread. Other menu offerings will include Spanakopita (“Spinach Pie”), Tiropita (“Cheese Pie”) and Pastitsio (“Greek Lasagna”).

Your kids will have a great time with face painting, games and a Moon Walk.

ENTERTAINMENT - The Greek Dancers of Minnesota (greekdancersmn.com) will perform a variety of folk dances with different sets of dances from all over Mainland Greece, the Greek Islands and Cyprus. There will be seven shows on Saturday and six shows on Sunday. Don’t miss these beautiful dance performances.

Greek vocalist Dino Adamidis will be joining us again this year; singing everyone’s favorite Greek songs.

HISTORY - Hourly Church Tours offer the opportunity to learn about the Eastern Orthodox Christian Church – the oldest Christian church in the world. Although little known in the U.S., Eastern Orthodox Christianity counts more than 250 million faithful - from all corners of the globe!

ATTRACTIONS - The Festival’s “Bake Sale” will offer a wide variety of fabulous Greek Pastries, including everyone’s favorite – Baklava!

Our “Greek Café” will be serving ice-cold coffee frappes, baklava ice cream sundaes and Loukoumades (“Honey Puffs”).

The “Bazaar” area will have a variety of items imported from Greece including t-shirts, jewelry, and pottery. You can also purchase beautiful photographs of Greece.
