   I recently was doing some landscaping in my yard that required me to remove some sod. I did it to repair some damage that had been done earlier in this spring. At that time, the new sod, which of course are thin rolls of grass already grown into soil, was easy to remove and work on.

   Today we commemorate two famous saints, both women, one from 2,000 years ago and one from 500 years ago. The former, Mary Magdalene, was a Myrrhbearer of Christ and Equal to the Apostles. The latter, Markella, was Virgin Martyr of Chios who died in the year 1500.
