Iconography Class

Subject: Icon Class at St. George Greek Orthodox Church (beginner's level)

The course is conducted in-person and/or online with a Zoom link.
Details: This series of 4 Tuesday evening classes is a beginner's class in iconography. The course introduces the process of writing/painting an icon and as such explores important features and principles of iconography as a sacred art.
In this course you would be writing/painting an icon of the Holy Face, on a cradled panel using acrylic paints. All materials are provided at the church or mailed out to registered students. The course does not require previous artistic experience.
Time: Starting Tuesday January 11,2022, Deb Korluka will be teaching the Icon Class This is a class for first time icon writers/painters.

2. Payment: 
    Total cost is $245.
           Registration requires an initial non-refundable payment of $100 to order materials for the course. The remainder of $145 to be paid by the first class.
     Payment method: 
          - By mail Registration Form and a Check. 
                     Make  the check payable to "St. George Bookstore"
          - Or Credit Debit Card. 
                     I will call you for your card details.
          All payments will be acknowledged by e-mail.
3. Materials
In-person class participants may pick-up their materials at the first class on January 11. Also materials may be pick-up at the St. George Bookstore after church services on Sundays.
On-line participants will be mailed their kit for an additional postage and handling charge. With registration you will also receive a detailed bibliography of books and articles relating to iconology and iconography.
4. Personal Note: Minda and I took our first class with Deb Korluka nearly 20 years ago. If you have an interest in iconography, this introductory class is a great place to start. After completing the class you will be able to continue on your own. We can give you guidance.
